SAFETY INFORMATION & RESOURCES LINKS
Studies and statistics have shown that nearly 6,000 American workers die on the job each year. More than 1.6 million Worker's Compensation claims are filed every year due to injuries and illnesses. Worker's Compensation costs make up more than 18% of employer health and disability benefits. Lost time injuries cost employers millions of dollars each year nationwide.
OSHA has found that an effective Health and Safety program reduces the extent and severity of work related injuries and illnessess, improves employee morale and productivity, reduces worker's compensation cost, and reduces health insurance costs.
Other studies have shown that for every dollar invested in health and safety training, a return of $4 to $6 is realized by employers. Safety programs make good business sense by containing the expenses associated with on the job injuries and illnesses. These costs can be reduced by 20 to 40 percent by establishing a Health and Safety program. TSPS offers seminars on working safe for employees and how to establish and manage a health and safety program for employers.
